Edition 34 - 2010 will be good for IPCAA

2010 will be good for IPCAA
says Anna Frick, IPCAA President

Anna Frick addresses members at the 21st General Assembly The environment in which we operate continues to be subject to pressures and is undergoing dynamic change, yet, despite the difficulties of travel and personal availability, we have just enjoyed, in New York, our best attended General Assembly for many years – acclaimed as highly successful and very informative, with the programme reflecting ongoing developments, relative to congress issues in the healthcare industry. I personally was extremely impressed with the expert guest speakers we arranged and the fascinating insights they provided into what the future might hold for many of us!

Two years have now passed, since I took over the presidency of IPCAA. Looking back, it seems that so much has happened in such a short time. I feel that the Association has grown in stature during this time and has pursued various initiatives which have enhanced its value for our members and also all those with whom we interact throughout the medical meetings sector.

This meeting also demonstrated to me, that in these times of change and pressure, the value of IPCAA is intensified, through the networking and information exchange facilities the Association offers. Nevertheless, there is no room to sit back and congratulate ourselves, we must strive to create and provide increased value and benefits for members and external stakeholders, in particular by ramping up certain task force activity and addressing issues such as congress housing situations.

I believe that 2010 will be a good year for the IPCAA: congresses are an important marketing tool for all companies, representing a significant area of investment; consequently everyone has to continue to ensure that efficiency is pursued and value created for employers and shareholders. IPCAA clearly has an important role to play in supporting this.

Finally, on behalf of the IPCAA Executive Group and Council, I would like to send best wishes to all our members and readers of IPCAA News, for a happy and successful year.

Best ever General Assembly!

Fantastic content and discussions

Definitely a meeting not to be missed

These were typical of the comments from members who attended our 21st General Assembly recently; there was a consensus that this was a hugely successful event – content was highly topical and very much appreciated by delegates and external speakers were felt to be of a high level. There was plenty of time to address fundamental task force issues as well and to develop forward-looking and strategic plans for each area. This issue of IPCAA News contains a detailed report on the General Assembly.
