Education Update

CME workshop rescheduled, Compliance programme now available

Following much discussion, the decision was recently taken, to reschedule the CME one day workshop originally planned for December 8th in Frankfurt. Planning is now underway with a view to offer this event for members next spring, with an updated programme content and additional faculty members. (IPCAA members will be kept advised as planning develops.)

The Healthcare Compliance workshop planned for December 9th in Frankfurt will go ahead.

Announcing the programme for the compliance day, Sylvia Fondanèche, IPCAA Vice President, responsible for educational activities, said: “We have put together some really exciting content which will serve the needs of those attending from within member companies; additionally, I feel it would also be appropriate to consider the usefulness of inviting colleagues from agency and other organisations, who need to be fully informed on such aspects, in order to efficiently carry out work on behalf of the organisations that contract them.”

The programme, titled “From Healthcare Compliance to Business Integrity”, will include:

  • Plenary and breakout discussion sessions
  • A keynote lecture by an external speaker
  • Regulatory updates and comments on future trends
  • Recent examples of regulatory problems, sanctions etc
  • The programme content should be of interest to those working in congress/meeting planning functions, leaders of medical education departments, as well as other company areas such as strategic marketing, public affairs, regulatory and compliance departments, legal.

A highly professional faculty will cover various key topics identified, and it is anticipated that the event will be very interactive.

In addition to addressing the specifics of the pharmaceutical industry, the workshop will also provide an update on the current regulatory/ compliance situation in other parts of healthcare industry (e.g. medical device manufacturers).

A key objective will be to demonstrate that business integrity deriving from properly implemented compliance programmes can provide real business advantage.

The workshop is free of charge and is exclusive to IPCAA members as well as any organisational representatives nominated by them. Places are limited, so anyone interested in participating is encouraged to sign up quickly, by registering online.
