A number of ongoing issues were progressed, including approval for circulation of the newly revised Sponsorship Prospectus – Fourth Edition. This is now available on each of the partners’ websites.

The possibility of joint educational programme opportunities was discussed in detail, and it is hoped that HCA can reach out further to medical associations via events such as EIBTM, IMEX and ATBTM in the future. Indeed, IPCAA and IAPCO hope to engage in a collaborative venture for an advanced education programme to be incorporated into the popular IAPCO Wolfsberg conference, starting from 2011.

The need for accurate and standard means to determine effectiveness of healthcare congresses (for all involved parties) was also deliberated on, and continuing analysis of the possibilities is to be pursued.

As always, the differences between the US environment and other areas was commented on, and it is clear that continuing cooperation within the framework of the Alliance will serve the best interests of association membership on both sides of the Atlantic.

A decision was also taken to withdraw and review the existing “HCA Housing Guidelines”, since these were issued some time ago and developments and practices in the meetings industry had changed. (See lead article on IPCAA housing initiative.)
