I am honoured to have been elected as the new President of IPCAA at the recent General Assembly in Gothenburg. Having served in the capacity of Vice President for the last three years, I have worked very closely with Anna Frick and have been able to observe at first hand the commitment and energy she brought to the position. On behalf of all members and the Executive Group and Council of IPCAA, I extend our grateful thanks for her efforts as President and trust she will find a little more time for herself in future!
I have shared already with the attendees at our General Assembly, my vision of the next few years for the Association and some more detail of our planned future activity appears elsewhere in these pages. However, let me briefly summarise in saying that I wish to bring IPCAA actively forward under my leadership, at a time when there are continuing changes happening in our working environment.
My view is that if we are successful in so doing, this will ensure optimum representation of the voice of industry as a partner in science and healthcare related exchange platforms including all directly and indirectly related congress matters. Together with colleagues, I have identified a number of strategic objectives in support of our longer term goals and our energies will be strongly focussed on relevant activities, in order to produce value for members and external stakeholders.
IPCAA is an organisation which offers and enjoys real value from the networking opportunities and educational platforms it provides and we intend to strengthen these aspects in future, as well as creating additional support for our task forces.
I can assure everyone of my own commitment and enthusiasm for the tasks ahead, but I cannot do it alone. I call for openness in IPCAA and contributions, support and commitment from all members, to assist in driving us forward to confront and overcome future challenges.
