Sylvia Fondanèche was elected President of IPCAA in January 2011, for a three year term. She joined IPCAA in 2006 serving as Council Member and further confirming her commitment to the association as Vice-President from 2007 - 2009. She has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over seven years having joined sanofi in 2004 to head the International Congress & Events Department. With a BA in International Business Administration and prior experience in public relations, sales and strategic and operational marketing meetings and hospitality industry, Sylvia has held positions in event and association management for such organisations as the UIA (Union Internationale des Avocats), ACCOR (Sofitel) and KPMG THL, a sales and marketing consulting firm for European convention bureaus and meeting & exhibition venues. She is also Vice-President of the Diabetes Industry Forum (DIF) and an active contributor to the facilitation and advancement of education for pharmaceutical meetings & events professionals and medical & scientific societies in such areas as international hospitality regulatory and compliance matters.
