IPCAA’s 2021 Annual Meeting provided an excellent platform to bring together employees of IPCAA Member Companies and key congress stakeholders including AC Forum representing Medical Associations and IAPCO representing PCOs.
IPCAA and AC Forum held a joint session and the importance of digital education was very much the focus in the kick-off presentation by Davi Kaur (EORTC). In conjunction with UEG (United European Gastroenterology) we understood what best practices should look like from an association perspective and what were the principal challenges for the pharma industry in 2020 with the advent of the virtual congress.
The HCP was at the centre of the presentation on the results from the 2nd phase of a joint IPCAA / Ashfield study. Behaviours and educational preferences were revealed and guidance provided as to how HCPs best want to engage online and improve learning experiences.
In an another presentation, Barbara Calderwood (IAPCO Council Member) highlighted the need for a better understanding of what the future might look like for virtual and hybrid models in order to create the optimum experience for participants.
Industry perspectives were provided by a working group representing 9 IPCAA Member Companies on their challenges and how we all have a role to play to shape the future. The Annual Meeting concluded with some informative breakout sessions and an interesting panel discussion on what constitutes a hybrid meeting.
